Boysen
If you've ever used the Foothill Shopping center you'll know Boysen Ave, its that windy road behind Lassen's Natural Foods. It was also the location where Peter Boysen use to own 27 acres of land that was just outside of the city limits of San Luis Obispo.
Peter Boysen was born February 1, 1872, the son of Peter Boysen and Ellen Eschelsen who resided in Schleswig, Denmark. Below is the baptismal record for Peter dated February 24, 1872.
Peter married Anna Cristina Jensen in San Luis Obispo on October 27, 1894, Below is a copy of their marriage certificate. They were married 50 years, till Anna's death in 1944.
For a while the Boysen's lived near The Monte or Miles Station near Avila Beach. It was referred to as "The Homestead".
In 1918 Peter bought the property on Morro Road to raise beans for the Red Cross.

Peter Boysen was an active civic member serving as a charter member of the San Luis Obispo chapter of the Dania Lodge and was a director of the San Luis Obispo Branch of the Bank of America. Peter was also a trustee for the one-room Santa Fe Schoolhouse where his daughter Frida was educated. Peter's main occupation was a dairyman and farmer.
On August 28, 1928 Peter, Anna and daughter Frida were travelling from Copenhagen to New York City aboard the Estonia. Peter is listed as being naturalized in 1894 in San Luis Obispo.
Peter Boysen died on January 6, 1956 and is interned the San Luis Cemetery in the Old Mausoleum, section OM-T3.
